Laura Jane and her husband, Seth, live in Burke with their two kids, niece, and two dogs. She currently serves as the Springfield District School Board Member on the Fairfax County School Board, after defeating a two-term Republican incumbent.
After a successful stint in the Georgia state government, Laura Jane moved to Fairfax County and became an advocate on Capitol Hill for several disease organizations. After having two kids, she began teaching in a preschool and as a long-term substitute in FCPS. In addition to her advocacy work, Laura Jane opened a small business in Clifton.
In Richmond she will work with her colleagues to push back against the extreme right-wing agenda coming from the Governor's mansion. Laura Jane will fight for our students and staff, work to uphold the right of all people to make their own healthcare decisions, and promote gun violence safety measures like universal background checks and secure storage of firearms.
